JW ex-boss is such a horrid man!

ok, so my husband worked for this slave driver jw boss in a factory, and injured his back on the job.

so my husband has launched a compensation claim against the jw boss's worker insurance for unsafe work practices.

so the jw ex boss has responded to the claim with this mega statement affidavit thing.

Indeed. Money reveals true character.

My husband has gone through the info in detail, and the most damning information has been left out by the ex boss...hubby noticed missing invoices for the day of the injury, whereas the subpoena'd sign-off sheet the guys initial and date each day PROVES beyond a shadow of a doubt that my husband handled the things he says he did that the bosses say he did not. Caught with pants down! Hubby's lawyer said he has a very strong case.

What amazes me though is, that the more we dig, the more duplicitous it gets. Mind you, the boss was always above the board with paying honest wages on time and being fully compliant in that regard, but it's the safety and the fact he works his guys like dogs then lies about it that is on or below the board.

I remember born-ins and young converts ie whose mothers converted saying similar to me in the 90s: "I used to do the maths and think "cool armageddon must be here soon if all we have to do is wait for these old guys to died out." I asked my mother to explain this new light to me"

Who is the "True God of the Bible" ?

i decided to ask this on the back of "lost"'s thread about yhvh etc.. quite often on here we get bible believers trying to tie the whole mess that is the bible together, and maintaining that it tells us about just one "true" god.. who is this "true" god, and what is the proof that he is true ?.

was he the god of abraham and melchizedech ?.

the god of the ordinary jew before the babylonian exile ?.

Just being devil's advocate here, not to cause offence, but if Jesus represents the God of Abraham et al in flesh, why did he behave so very different to YHWH of the ot? Jesus taught love, peace and charity and showed compassion for all he came across in some way or other, whereas YHWH incited violence and plagues upon innocent civilians. Sounds like two different individuals, unrelated ones at that.

Hey lost, what is the truth you've found? I'm interested in finding truth, if it's to be found.

Also, the NWT has been acknowledged as a good translation of the Hebrew texts. It's when you compare its translation of the nt Greek with the Greek that it falls flat on its face AMD falls into obfuscation and outright changes to support the Jw bias. I did the research myself on it at bible.cc.

Anxiety Attacks At Meetings

i believe i posted on this before.

but,i was recently thinking back when i was still regularly going to meetings.

and how sometimes,just the thought of having to start to get ready to go,sent me in a panic.

Me too! Your body will tell you something's wrong when your mind refuses to. Since I've left (this year's memorial was my last meeting) I've seen that it's common for,other leavers to have had the same symptoms I did.

Even now, thinking about it gets my anxiety up. Takes time to recover I gather, but hey, we have each other.

I'm not DF or DA, but I still get shunned...

i met a couple i used to know many years ago (probably 20) in a local "big box" store.

i knew they looked familiar and since they were dressed up and it was saturday "mid day" i put two and two and two and came up with 666... they were jw's.

i didn't say anything to them just minded my business picking up supplies when the woman came over to me and started asking me if she new me from work or some company.

The only JWs I run into now r old friends from my first cong via facebook or phone but haven't run into anyone from my last cng even tho many of them shop at the same place and so I've not yet felt the joy of face to face shunning. I did have one sanctimoniously tell me on Facebook she was about to unfriend me because of my liberal views and at least she told me!

Dumb line in Bible Study presentation in July 2013 KM

in the july 2013 km for the presentation to start a study, this is the recommended presentation: "almost everyone prays at one time or another.

even atheists have prayed when in trouble.

do you think that god listens to all prayers?".

I prayed once when I was an atheist. I prayed saying, "God, if you're real, reveal yourself to me." I was 12 years old...

But most people become atheists from choice after having considered God, whereas I was raised that way.

Perhaps a better way of putting that presentation would be, "I've heard that some atheists have been known to pray..." by using "I" statements and distancing yourself from the information by saying "I've heard...been known to..." that's how I would have worded it for a presentation when I was in. Not that I used their presentations anyway because I thought they were dumb.

I see a change to a more passive form of witnessing, but only if you're authorised by the Society. You couldn't just make your own stand and park yourself in a busy street mall without getting 'counselled' by the elders. Imagine if someone did make their own stand and start counting time? If they didn't stop it, they'd be dfd for 'not following organisational procedure".
